Parker's Black Belt

On Friday we had an exciting thing happen, Parker was able to test for his First Degree Black Belt! He did his Form, all 44 steps. Then he did his Weapon's with Double Nunchucks and Sparred another Black Belt. He had to break a green board with two different moves. His first move was an Upset Knifehand. He only has 3 tries for each move. He didn't break it. So he moved on to his kick. It was a Turn Outer Crescent. He broke it on his second try. So now, we know he hadn't passed. When everyone else had gone, Mr. Little called Parker back up and told him he had one finally shot at his Knifehand. If he didn't get it on the first try, he wouldn't pass. This time Parker went right through the board and PASSED!!!!! Parker had a goal to get his Black Belt before he turned 8, and he did it! He know has at least one year of training before he can test for his Seond Degree, we will keep you updated on how he is doing. Also, on a side note, even though I do not have any pictures, Colton received his Tiny Tiger Black Belt on Thursday. He still has at least a year and a half to two years before his Black Belt, but is so happy to have one right now. It was great to see Colton and Parker both reach a goal!

Play Time

Owen has figured out playing! Tonight after dinner he ran upstairs the minute I set him down to go play with Parker and Colton! It was so cute. He try's to go so fast, his arms flail and off he goes. So I grabbed the camera and followed him up the stairs and took some pictures. He is having so much fun! I also taught him the sign for cookie, mistake on my part. That is all he asks for now, and he can somewhat even say it, so I think he is getting the hang of talking!

Walking with the Dinosaurs!!!

This last Wednesday night we had a chance to go to and see Walking with the Dinosaurs! We were not going to go since we are planning our vacation for February. But then last week my parents called and Berk got tickets from work!!! (Thank you Fred Meyer) So Parker and Colton and I met up with my mom, Berk, my sister's husband Mitch and their kids Kearney and Ethan. My pictures didn't turn out, but here are some of how they looked. It was so cool. The boys loved it. Colton spent all night on Papa Berk's lap. He even asked my mom, when they were talking about what some of them ate, "if that one liked people". How funny is that?!
The Paleontologist took us on a journey through the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic Periods and there where a few dinosaurs from each one. At first I really liked the Stegosaurous, because his spikes turned red to ward off would be predators. And then I liked the Triceratops, as seen on the bottom right picture, becuase he just looked cool. And then out came Tryannosaurous Rex, and I am sure the kids will agree, it was truly the best part! That thing was LOUD!!!!! All in all it was a great fun evening and it was a fun family thing to do with the kids.
